This circuit makes a flower bop to the beat of music. The flower stem contains a crooked wire which is spun by the motor. The circuit is a microphone driven peak-detecting one-shot and works very well. The microphone is in a sponge mount to insulate it from the vibration of the running motor. This is a haloween toy which spins a skeleton or goul in response to a loud noise. The microphone triggers a monostable which makes the geared motor run for a few seconds. Note that when the one shot becomes active it disables the microphone so that the circuit can reset itself:
