Resistance of pure Cu wire at 20°C in ohms-per-1000m = 21.9528 ÷ wire-size-in-mm ²
Resistance of pure Cu wire at 20°C in ohms-per-1000ft = 10371.4 ÷ wire-size-in-mil ²

Q: I want to report a problem:

Some of the dimensions are given in in only 3 significant digits while others are shown in 5.
Some of the mil sizes don't match the mm sizes in accordance with normal unit conversion factors.
Dimensions are all slightly out of whack compared to calculated sizes obtained from a wire size formula.

A: Okay grasshopper but...

Look at the official standard document to see how each specific wire size is specified.
While it is possible and perhaps likely that the above table contains some mistakes,
chances are that the anomaly you noticed is actually built into the official standard.
Some standards actually quote slightly discrepant values between mil and mm sizes.
Most standards specify tabular sizes instead of invoking a mathematical formula.
If you can prove that the issue is in fact real then please email me and I will fix it.
